YES, YES, YES!
As an American girl in love with a Haitian man...JoJo Fritay is a fantastic substitute when his mom isn't available to make her authentic Haitian cuisine! I LOVE Haitian pate's and when I called @ 630 and the owner (I believe) told me that she had some but I had to make it before 7pm, I hopped in my car and flew to Kennesaw! Lol
I was greeted with the warmest smile & she knew it was me who called! I Ordered 4 chicken patties and she also provided me with 4 sides of Pikliz !!! The Pate's were made FRESH and from scratch! You can tell cause none of them were shaped the same! HUGE PLUS!
They were sooooooo good!!! I killed two in one sitting!!! I will definitely be back to Jojo's to try more options & more Pate's!!!
This was my second time at this establishment. I specifically told the man at the register that last time my fried pork was dry. I order fried pork and fried plantains. The bunun was soft, thick and full of grease. There was no crunch to it at all. They didn't fry it long enough. The pork was tasteless, dry and hard. So, I have to finish frying my food to try to feel better about my 15.00 dollars. It's the closest Haitian place to me but moving forward, I prefer to travel further for a better experience.
Extremely clean, and friendly. It was clean but still smelled like good food. My first time trying Haitian food so I had a lot of questions and samples and they were patient with me. I got a lime juice (fresh squeezed!) And a herring pate kòde. With a few sides from the hot bar. And Amazing music I believe it was carribean but didn't ask the specific origin.
I went to this Restaurant today for the 1st time.
I wasn't sure what to try so
a Customer referred a Dish she like.
I Never, Ever Try Things without Knowing what it was.
I did today and it was really good.
Life is Short I want to Stop being a Plain Jane and Try New things.
I am Glad I did.
And the Food Came out fast CSR was good too.
I have been here several times and I like the food and even the staff. Today, I went back and it's the first time I met this young looking lady(not so pleasant). After getting my Fritay I asked for extra pikliz and she refused giving me, saying that she would have to charge me...it's not even about charging, it's about the rude manner in which she replied me. She can do better! Smh
Being born in Okap, and raised in South Florida, taste buds are already accustomed to well flavored and textured food from back home. This restaurant did not live up to the ratings. Twice I’ve been and twice more disappointed.
The food was decent but 80% of my goat meat was all fat (see pics). What little bit that wasn't fat, was cut too thick so the seasoning didn't get into the meat. Our Lalo had Ginger in it.. how?! Why?! The plantain was decent. The akra was weird and the marinad and patat were way too greasy to fully enjoy and the edges we're had as if they'd sat out for some time before being served. I ended up throwing the rest away.
Update: 3 of the 4 people who ate there ended up with food poisoning (vomiting and diarrhea).
Extremely pricey....in addition portion is less than other competitors. I purchase their "Lalo". Beware buyers: they are actually serving spinach and other green leaves....taste nothing like LALO. …
